Hotel owner to further invest in historic Uphill Lincoln

After the White Hart Hotel underwent renovations and welcomed guests once again in Lincoln’s historic Bailgate, its proprietor has unveiled intentions to further invest in the city.

Andrew Long, the owner of the White Hart Hotel, has acquired a pair of grade II star-listed Georgian town houses situated at 6 & 7 Castle Hill.

Long said: “No. 7, Castle Hill, known locally as Castle Square, will offer accommodation for up to eight guests (four adults and four children) to enjoy a luxury stay in a unique and enviable location. With exceptional views over Castle Square and down Steep Hill, it’s truly a local gem and a very special customer experience for leisure or corporate use.”

In addition to No. 7, Andrew’s Travel Sector Property Group recently bought the freehold interest in Leigh Pemberton House at 8/9 Castle Hill, another Grade II Star Listed Building.

This building is famous as the City’s Visitor & Tourist Information Centre, which will continue operating on the ground floor and basement.

Long also gained control of the upper floors of Leigh Pemberton House.

With the help of John Roberts Architects and Austin Heritage, plans are underway to convert these floors into luxury en-suite bedrooms to be part of the White Hart Hotel.

Pending necessary approvals, renovations will be carried out in consultation with the City of Lincoln’s Heritage Division and other relevant parties.
