Scores of jobs at risk as delivery firm alerts administrators

A delivery firm which promises same day, next day and out of hours services in and around Chesterfield and Sheffield, is facing a bleak future.
Home Delivery Solutions (HDS), which is based in Chesterfield, has posted a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators through law firm DLA Piper.
In its latest available accounts, made up to the end of 2022, HDS said it employed 136 staff. At the time, the firm had assets of over £1.8m and owed creditors almost £2.6m.
The NOI will protect HDS from creditor action for a period of around ten days.
HSBC Bank and HSBC Invoice Finance hold charges against the company.
HDS is the second Chesterfield delivery firm in a matter of weeks to hit hard times. In April, we revealed that City Couriers Direct, which has been labelled a “disgrace” by some of its suppliers, had called in administrators from Leonard Curtis.
