Travelodge has announced two new hotels on England’s east coast, in Skegness and Harwich, with construction underway.

In Skegness, an 80-bed hotel is being built on South Parade, creating 30 jobs and featuring a top-floor restaurant. It will open by the Summer of 2025 alongside a Starbucks drive-thru.

The 68-room Harwich hotel is being developed on Stanton Europark, near Harwich Port, and will operate with nearby Starbucks, KFC, and other brands. It is also set to open in Summer 2025.

Tony O’Brien, UK development director, Travelodge said: “Travelodge is delighted to continue the expansion of our network of hotels throughout the UK and these new hotels will be fantastic additions to our portfolio. Both hotels are located in prime locations of Skegness and Harwich, suitably located for both our business and leisure customers visiting the areas.

“It is a pleasure to be working with the Burney Group again and we are sure that these hotels will perform well for us – creating new jobs and boosting the local economies. We are looking forward to opening both in time for Summer 2025.”

Daren Burney, Burney Group, said: “Delighted to be able to bring forward the two new Travelodge Hotels to add to our Hotel Portfolio. Both hotels provide real regeneration benefits notwithstanding the economic benefits and job creation to each local area.”
