Housebuilder gets green light for £20m scheme

How the homes will look

Housebuilder Avant Homes East Midlands is set to build 79 new homes in Burbage, near Hinckley, after being granted planning permission for a £20m scheme.

Called Chestnut Acres and located off Lychgate Lane, the development will comprise a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.

Work is expected to start on site over the winter, with the first residents expected to move into their new homes in Autumn 2025.

Avant Homes East Midlands has also committed to a £900,000 Section 106 agreement.

Avant Homes East Midlands managing director, Ben Felton, said: “Chestnut Acres is evidence of our commitment to providing quality new homes for everyone in locations where people want to live.

“Our development will provide a mix of practically designed, energy-efficient homes that are ideal for a range of buyers, from first-time buyers to second-steppers and downsizers.

“Burbage’s location near to rural countryside and offering easy access to both Leicester and the wider Midlands region make it an excellent place to live.

“Now that planning has been granted, we look forward to starting work to delivering a thriving community and homes for those looking to move in or to Burbage.”
