On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has expanded its team in Lincoln with the appointment of commercial property partner Brian Noble.

With more than 18 years’ post-qualified experience, Noble has joined Shakespeare Martineau from Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management in Newark, where he was a real estate partner. Prior to this, he worked for several law firms in London and the South East, working his way up from solicitor to partner.

Noble said: “I relocated back to Lincolnshire from London in 2023 and have worked with Shakespeare Martineau on the opposite side of a number of transactions since then.

“I have always been impressed with the firm’s pro-active and commercially-minded approach to deals, and I am excited to be part of its growing Lincoln office, while also having national exposure, and looking forward to helping the team and property practice grow in the region.”

Nexus Leaders, the East Midland’s largest peer-group network for MDs, CEOs and business owners, has appointed Mel Archbould as its new group chair.

Archbould will be taking over chairing duties of Nexus 2, which consists of leaders from businesses across the region representing a diverse group of sectors ranging from transport, to textiles to ecommerce. She is taking over from current group Chair, Tim Povall, who is moving out of the role to focus on developing two other Nexus peer groups he chairs. Archbould will also provide monthly 1-2-1 coaching sessions with each of her group members.

Managing director of Nexus Leaders, John Williams, said: “Mel’s track record speaks for itself, having sold her business in 2022, she has since embarked on a successful coaching career. She has the exact combination of business experience, acumen and leadership development skills that we look for in this highly specialised role.”

The established Nexus 2 group consists of some truly inspirational leaders and I’m excited to dive deeper into their businesses as we begin our working relationship together. Additionally, I’m looking forward to recruiting new group members to join us in the coming months.”
