Book publisher secures six-figure funding post-buyout

A Market Harborough book publisher has secured new funding after undergoing a family-focused management buyout.

Troubador Publishing engaged Stefan Radymski at Evolve Business Finance, who then collaborated with Gary Newman at Santander UK to arrange a £300,000 business loan over three years.

After the management buy-out, Troubador Publishing’s new managing director, Alex Thompson, sought additional funding to restore working capital and support the company’s growth, strengthening its financial stability.

Founded by Jeremy Thompson in the 1980s, Troubador Publishing has grown into an independent UK publisher and now employs 26 people.

Thompson, said: “Stef and Gary made everything so easy. They’ve both got a lot of experience dealing with businesses like ours so totally understood what was needed. Working with them has been brilliant.  With the funds now in place, we are excited to drive the next phase of Troubador’s growth, with fresh ideas and a vision for the future.”

Stefan Radymski, director of Evolve Business Finance said: “Troubador has been a key player in the publishing world since the late 1980s – it’s a fantastic business with huge potential. It’s been a pleasure to support Alex after the buyout. With the new ownership in place, I have no doubt the team will take the business to the next level.”
