Nottingham charity seeks help for move to bigger HQ

Footprints Conductive Education Centre, a charity that supports children with mobility and communication difficulties across the East Midlands, has announced it will be relocating to a new, larger premises in 2025.

The charity has outgrown its current location in Sneinton and is moving to a new building on Farnborough Road in Clifton, Nottingham.

It will become the base for both Footprints Conductive Education Centre and a community hub, enabling the charity to expand its reach and deliver a greater number of services to children and families in need.

The centre will allow Footprints to provide more space for its programmes, which use Conductive Education to help children with motor and communication skills, empowering them to reach their full potential.

In addition to the Conductive Education Centre, the site will host a variety of services and community outreach initiatives, creating a space for families to come together and access essential support.

However, the move to the new site comes with a challenge: the building requires extensive renovation before it can be fully operational.

Footprints is currently looking for support from local businesses and construction companies to help bring the new centre to life.

The charity is seeking donations of building materials, insulation and landscaping services, as well as financial support to purchase equipment for the new centre.

So far, Footprints has received a generous amount of assistance from local volunteers and businesses, including Halsall Lloyd Partnership Architects, Gleeds, Chord Consult and Blueprint Interiors, who have contributed their time and expertise to the renovation plans.

As the renovation progresses, Footprints is calling on the wider community, particularly those in the property and construction sectors, to join the effort and help get the new centre operational.

John Tansur, commercial director at Blueprint Interiors, said: “Having seen the miracles the team at Footprints have performed over the years working with the children and families it supports, it was an easy decision for us to get involved in the project. If the business community can all pull together and deliver the facilities they need then we can help change so many lives for the better.

“To help with longer-term financial support, part of the new centre will be a well-being coffee bar which will provide a safe and supportive space for families to spend time in and connect with other Footprints families, as well as being open to the local community.”

Stephen Frew, Footprints’ business and charity manager said: “Moving to our new centre in Clifton will be an absolute game changer for Footprints. As a charity that supports children and families with mobility and communication difficulties, we must provide a space which is accessible and suitable for all of our needs, now and in the future. And we’re so pleased to have found this at Clifton.

“At our brand-new Footprints Centre, we will be able to deliver a greater number of our transformative services and reach more families and children. We are hugely grateful to the amazing organisations who are working with us on our exciting project, their support will truly make a difference to all of the children and families we support.”
