Home and DIY retailer calls in administrators – all jobs lost

A retailer of discount home and DIY products has called in administrators.
TheBusinessDesk.com understands that John Lowe and Nathan Jones of FRP Advisory were appointed joint administrators to Chesterfield-based UK Home Shopping on 27th February.
The firm also ran the Tools to Go outlet in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.
Last week on the Tools to Go Facebook page, customers were becoming concerned after not receiving their orders. One said: “Hi – I have ordered a mower and can’t now get in touch with anyone? Has the company gone? You have £300 of mine.”
A spokesperson for FRR Advisory told us: “FRP are in the process of realising its business and assets to deliver the best possible outcomes for creditors, and supporting employees with applications to the redundancy payments service.”
In its latest available accounts, made up to the end of August 2023, UK Home Shopping was holding stock valued at almost £2.4m and owed creditors nearly £2.3m. At the time, the company employed 25 people.
