Housing association seeking new land as it smashes build target

NCHA has confirmed the completion of 421 new affordable homes for 2024/25, exceeding its target of 320 homes.

The achievement includes over 100 shared ownership properties, the housing association said.

Jo Hill, assistant director for development and sales at NCHA, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Homes England for supporting our building programme. Their vital funding has made it possible, as does our close working relationships with regional local authority partners and contractors.

“It’s been a fantastic year for completions, though not without its challenges. The changes to stamp duty for first time buyers meant we had to work hard to ensure as many homebuyers as possible completed their purchases before the deadline and avoided additional costs.

“Among the year’s highlights is the completion of our flagship development on Farnborough Road in Clifton. This mixed-use scheme has created a thriving community where our colleagues work alongside our residents in high-quality, sustainable accommodation designed for people over 55. Another standout success is Prospect Place in Lenton, our design-led EPC A-rated urban development that demonstrates how affordable housing can be both beautiful and functional.

“Urban developments are proving particularly strong for us, and we’re actively seeking new land opportunities in Derby, Leicester, and Nottingham to build on this momentum. If you can support, we’d love to hear from you.”
