AIB new business lending on the rise

Allied Irish Bank (GB), which has an office in Nottingham, has seen its new business lending over the last year shoot up by over a half, according to new figures.

For the year ending 31st December, AIB saw new business lending rise by 57 per cent to £1.6bn.

Gerard O’Keeffe, head of Allied Irish Bank (GB), said: “AIB (GB) continued to show strong performance in 2015 and we are delighted with the way the bank has provided owner managed businesses with access to capital and expert advice from its experienced relationship managers throughout the year.

“In my job as head of AIB in Great Britain I speak to owner managers of businesses every day and I’m often struck by how lonely a job it can be. A good bank helps business owners to rigorously interrogate their balance sheets, make tough calls about costs, and take calculated risks on investment and expansion.

“By working closely with owner managers, I’m proud to say AIB (GB) supports businesses in exactly this way. We make time for our customers and work with them to unlock their potential to create jobs, grow their business and strengthen their financial outlook. We look forward to another successful year supporting our customers in 2016.”
