Eversheds commits to Nottingham city centre

Eversheds' Nottingham office

Law giant Eversheds has told TheBusinessDesk.com that is committed to staying in Nottingham city centre when it moves in November.

On Friday we reported that the firm had begun its search for new offices before the lease expires at its 35,550 sq ft offices at 1 Royal Standard Place.

There were rumours that the firm could leave Nottingham altogether, but Eversheds’ boss in the city has moved to quash them by speaking to us.

Mark Fletcher, senior office partner, said: “Eversheds in Nottingham has always had a strong reputation in the region, a loyal client base and is performing very strongly, so committing to staying in the city centre was an easy decision.

“We are focussed on securing the optimum size and position of premises that would benefit both our colleagues and clients and we are making good progress to date. We hope to announce where our new home will be very soon.”

On Thursday, the head of Invest in Nottingham Lorraine Baggs said: “Nottingham is rightly seen as the professional services centre of the East Midlands and Eversheds is an integral part of that.

“The calibre of the professional services companies with a presence in the city show what a supportive, collaborative working culture we have here, and we’re working with Eversheds to bring forward the best possible new office space for the company.”
