Vardy’s wheels up for sale

Fans of Leicester City will soon be able to drive around like one of their Premier League winning heroes after a car owned by striker Jamie Vardy went up for sale on the internet.

The current owner of the Mercedes C63 AMG is a private seller based in Essex.

Danny Sangster is now looking to capitalise on the club’s – and Vardy’s – success by selling the car through Auto Trader.

He said: “What Leicester City have achieved this season has been nothing short of incredible, and it’s been brilliant driving around in a car that I know was previously owned by arguably the country’s best footballer this season.

“But I know there might be a Leicester City fan who would treasure this car as a piece of motoring history.”

The high performance sports car has about three times the power of an average family hatchback due to its 6.3-litre V8 engine, which kicks out 457bhp. That’s enough to propel the car from 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 155mph.

The car had a number of football grounds programmed into its sat nav – along with a dance album which was left in the CD player by its former owner.

When he looked to buy one of the cars Mr Sangster was actually offered a second C63 which had also been owned by a Premier League footballer – former Aston Villa midfielder  Zat Knight.

One note of caution for would-be Foxes owners, when Vardy sold the car his club was rooted to the bottom of the league and struggling against relegation.

Perhaps it was more than a change of manager which brought about the club’s dramatic turnaround – maybe it was also a change of wheels for its top scorer.

This season the 29-year old has scored 29 goals, also competing for the Premier League Golden Boot.

The 2013 Mercedes C63 AMG is for sale on Auto Trader for £38,500, and has just over 14,000 miles on the clock.
