Notts County on verge of 9th manager in 3 years

John Sheridan

Notts County are expected to appoint their third manager in under six months this morning.

The Magpies are thought to have poached Oldham Athletic’s John Sheridan, and have been in talks over a compensation package over the last 48 hours.

Sheridan will be Notts’ ninth manager in three years. The club is currently up for sale, and despite owner and chairman Ray Trew saying that a deal is close, a sale is taking a lot longer than expected.

Sheridan will replace Mark Cooper who left for non-league Forest Green at the end of the season.

Cooper succeeded Jamie Fullarton, who was sacked by Notts in March.
