On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Richard McNeilly

Richard McNeilly has been appointed managing partner of Dains Accountants.

McNeilly has been with the firm for 10 years and has been head of business development throughout this time.

He takes over from Spencer Wright who is stepping down after nearly 10 years in the role.

McNeilly said: “Spencer has made a significant contribution in promoting both the accountancy profession and Dains during his successful career initially as Head of corporate finance and then as chief executive.

“Under his leadership the business has delivered excellent results for clients, partners and employees and has furthered its reputation as an independent adviser to owner managed businesses which was recognised when Dains was awarded ‘Mid Tier Firm of the Year’ in the 2013 National Accountancy Awards.

“I am delighted that Spencer will be continuing to work with Dains in a consultancy role and also working with Dains IT Solutions in an advisory role in the coming months – a challenge I know he is looking forward to.”

A new face has joined the commercial property team at solicitors Ellis-Fermor & Negus at its Beeston office.

Martin Cornforth has joined the company at its Devonshire Avenue base.

The commercial property section of Elise-Fermor & Negus headed by director Simon Hale has grown from one part-time lawyer over the past 10 years to three full-time ones.

Hale said: “Demand for commercial property in and around Beeston was static due to the disruption caused by the lengthy tram works. Now the tram is up and running we are seeing increased demand and we are delighted with the addition of Martin to strengthen our team.”
