Parkway Derby gets green light for expansion

A Volkswagen dealership has been given planning permission to build am 11,000 sq ft storage, distribution facility on Wincanton Business Park in the city.

The new development will have parking spaces for up to 462 cars at a time and will create 40 jobs.

It will service the Parkway Volkswagen (Derby) dealership on Locomotive Way on Pride Park. Of the total number of vehicles delivered to the site, 50% of the 2,000 a year total will be delivered in the months of February and August leading up to the March and September registrations.

Earlier this month Parkway, one of the largest Volkswagen dealers in the East Midlands, posted revenues of £150m mark.

Results showed that Parkway Derby turned over £149.8m in the year to 30 November 2015, up from £135.1m a year earlier.
