Big shed specialist Winvic has posted another set of impressive results – more than doubling profit.

The Northampton firm saw profits rise from £9.6m in 2014 to £22.8m last year as revenues topped the £400m mark.

The company says that it is looking to top £500m in revenues this year and the firm turned over £418m in 2015.

Winvic recently completed a one million sq ft hub in the East Midlands for Amazon.

Managing director Simon Girardier said: “The occupier led industrial and distribution opportunities would appear to remain strong, whereas speculative development is always subject to varying conditions.

“Our capability for large scale civil engineering, earthworks and infrastructure projects will allows us to construct a number of new developments throughout the year.”

Girardier also said his firm would look to broaden its scope this year and concentrate on retail.

“Our sectors of operation will broaden and we will look to secure work in the out of town retail sector.

“This type of work matches our skillset and can be accommodated comfortably within our existing infrastructure,” he said.
