YourNews: Home for Christmas thanks to Newark and Sherwood Homes

THREE local families have moved into new homes in Farnsfield just in time for Christmas, thanks to housing provider Newark and Sherwood Homes.

The three new homes located at St Michael’s View, a development being delivered through partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council, have been built for local people who have strong links to Farnsfield and the local community.

Zoe Moody, who has moved into one of the new homes, said: “My children and I have lived in Farnsfield for over five years; however, due to a change in personal circumstances, we needed to find a new home.

“There were absolutely no affordable homes available nearby, which was bad news for us all – all three of my children study at local schools and have friends and family here, so I was anxious about uprooting our lives. Our new home is lovely, it is everything we need and we are so grateful to Newark and Sherwood Homes and the Council for creating these affordable houses in Farnsfield.”

Newark and Sherwood Homes is working with the Council to deliver 16 affordable houses as part of the St Michael’s View development, with the other homes expected to be occupied in 2017.

Rebecca Rance at Newark and Sherwood Homes said: “We are delighted to have handed over these three homes to local people, like Zoe, and hope they are very happy in their home. We will continue to work to secure as much affordable housing in the district as we can.”
