YourNews: Leonard Design expands Nottingham HQ

GROWING architecture practice Leonard Design Architects has expanded its Nottingham head office with a full refurbishment by Nottingham-based B&M Installations.

Located in Albion House, Canal Street, the 465 sq ft office underwent a full refurbishment including frame-less glass partitioning, new Interface floor tiles and a brand new, top of the range kitchen.

Interior specialists B&M Installations worked closely with Leonard Design to provide the fit out for the project including the modernisation of the fourth floor where Leonard Design is currently located and also completely transforming the additional third floor they have taken on.

John Morgan, director at Leonard Design, said: “The top priority for the office was more space to accommodate our growing team due to increased regional work. We also wanted to provide staff with different working spaces so they aren’t just confined to their desks.

“We also created more varied, creative areas on the third floor such as open plan meeting tables, glass panelled meeting rooms, small café style tables, large tables for drawing, a room for black out blinds to have total privacy and even some beanbags!

Dan Belfield, project manager at B&M Installations, said: “This was a great project to work on as the third-floor was a blank canvas. We used only the highest spec products including full height Vitarage silicone glazed glass partitioning for the new meeting spaces and Interface floor tiles throughout the office.

“A key part of the brief was providing alternative leisure areas so we installed a high-end kitchen, including granite worktops, and also installed a shower room with top finishes for the staff who cycle or walk to work.

“We also took the very old and tired toilets and refurbished them to ‘hotel standards’ with block board countertops, bowl sinks and rubber floors.”

John added: “We wanted a top-quality office to showcase our high standards to our local, national and international clients and B&M have done a fantastic job. We have been really impressed with the suburb quality of their work. No detail was too trivial and they really understood the vision we had for the office.

The project was brought to life using local Midlands businesses. Suppliers, alongside B&M, include Innes England which facilitated the leasing of the additional half floor and intu as the landlord of Albion House.
