£33m development approved in Plymouth city centre

Plymouth Community Homes has received planning permission for the development of land situated off Bath Street within the Millbay revitalisation zone.

The £33.5m initiative, adjacent to the Pavilions site, aims to establish a new community in the city centre.

It will provide an array of energy-efficient, cost-effective new homes alongside commercial spaces, shared gardens, and recreational areas for children within expansive green surroundings.

The Bath Street project will include a variety of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments, townhouses, and mews houses within structures spanning three to five stories, with the start of construction anticipated next spring.

The initial segment slated for completion will bring 51 residences available for social rent and an additional 29 for shared ownership.

This initiative is integral to the collaboration between PCH and Plymouth City Council, working together to introduce over 600 new homes in Plymouth, with a minimum of 444 designated for affordable housing.

PCH is in the process of acquiring the site, predominantly owned by Plymouth City Council, with assistance facilitated through efforts with Homes England. Homes England is actively involved in the project, providing expertise and support.
