Warwickshire industrial park changes hands to fund growth pipeline
Warwickshire Property & Development Group has sold Sucham Park, a fully-let 42,200 sq ft industrial scheme in Southam, to fund two further commercial developments in the county.
The nine-unit scheme, ranging from 1,900 to 15,000 sq ft, was WPDG’s first direct-delivery commercial project. All nine units let within 12 months of completion, and the site now houses six businesses supporting around 100 jobs.
Proceeds from the sale will go towards Greville Business Park, a 28,000 sq ft, 11-unit scheme between Leamington and Warwick, and a 21,350 sq ft development planned for the former Bloxham Centre site in Rugby, for which WPDG has submitted planning applications.
Sucham Park brought a previously unused site at Holywell Business Park back into commercial use. The scheme includes solar panels and 10 electric vehicle charging points, and holds an EPC A rating.
Tenants include Green Tech Industries, which recycles batteries and motors from electric vehicles and has grown to create 11 jobs since moving in, Leamington Spa-based RMF Installation and Services, and fastener supplier Auto Fasteners.
Stuart Buckley, managing director of WPDG, said the sale would let the company reinvest in its next schemes. WPDG was set up by Warwickshire County Council to develop its land, buildings and mineral rights.
Avison Young advised WPDG on the sale.
