Trebor/Hortons secure consent for £7m Sutton retail scheme

TREBOR Developments and Hortons Estates’ proposals to develop a £7m retail park in Sutton Coldfield have secured planning consent.
Work on the new development in Princess Alice Drive is now scheduled to begin in September, once the site is vacant.
The scheme will see the development of 23,750 sq ft (2,206m²) of retail space, comprising a series of retail units. The first secured occupier for the new scheme is due to be announced shortly.
Trebor/Hortons, which acquired the site from Action for Children, said the initial works would consist of site clearance and associated site preparation. It is anticipated the overall development will be completed and open for business in autumn 2013.
The scheme is Trebor/Hortons’ second retail development in Birmingham in the last 12 months, having successfully completed a retail project at Hagley Road last year.
Bob Tattrie, managing partner for Trebor Developments, said: “We are delighted to have received detailed planning consent and thank our consultants and all those involved for the hard work in supporting us in bringing forward this excellent new development on such a busy and well known retail park.
“We look forward to announcing, shortly, the first occupiers who have signed up for the scheme and in due course that work has started on site to deliver the scheme.”
Trebor/Hortons are represented for retail lettings by the Birmingham office of Bartlett Property & Gerald Eve.
