FORE finds an occupier at last

BAM Properties has let nearly 9,000 sq ft of its Solihull office building FORE to steel and mining company ArcelorMittal.

The relocation – from Solihull town centre – will see it take the top floor of FORE, which was also designed and built by BAM.

FORE – located at junction 4 of the M42 – was speculatively developed as a BREEAM Excellent-rated headquarters building but has suffered because of the recession and has stood empty for a number of years.

This has led to BAM re-thinking FORE as a multi-occupier scheme.

It was assisted in securing the ArcelorMittal deal by Birmingham-based property advisors KWB and CBRE. KWB also acted on behalf of the steel and mining company.

ArcelorMittal operates in 60 countries and employs about 260,000 people worldwide. It is a supplier of steel products in sectors such as automotive, construction, household appliances and packaging.

Martin Hill, development director of BAM Properties, said: “We are delighted to welcome such a high profile and substantial organisation as ArcelorMittal to kick start the occupation of this flagship office scheme in Solihull.”

KWB partner Mark Robinson said:: “With the ‘green agenda’ high on their priority list, FORE offices Solihull ticked all the boxes for ArcelorMittal, with its superb sustainability credentials, high specification and highly efficient office space.”

KWB’s interior design and move management arm, KWB Workplace, has provided ArcelorMittal with space planning and design services to optimise work space, and will be project managing the procurement, fit out works and relocation process when work starts in the next few weeks.
