Newark family-run engineering firm calls in administrators

A fourth-generation family engineering business based in Newark has called in administrators.
John Lowe and Nathan Jones or FRP Advisory have been appointed to look after stricken Greenberry Engineering Services based on Quibells Lane in Newark. The firm has been trading since 1971 and carries out all aspects of engineering work from the design and installations of factory layouts to prototyping of small components.
Greenberry was started as a partnership between brothers Dennis and Ernest Greenberry in 1970 based in a small workshop on Millgate, Newark. Having worked in local industry most of their working life they decided to set up their sub contract engineering business offering welding, fabrication and machining capacity to local companies.
In its latest available accounts to 31 May 2015 Greenberry owed £663,201 to creditors. According to the its website, the company employed around 25 people including its managing director Aidan Greenberry.
