Traffic alert: A38 closed in Derbyshire after vehicle fire

Motorists in the East Midlands are facing long delays this afternoon after a lorry caught fire on the A38.

Highways England is reporting that the A38 in Derbyshire is closed in both junctions between the B600 (near Alfreton) and the M1 (J28) whilst the Fire Service tackle a vehicle fire.

Road users are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journey and may wish to consider using an alternative route if possible.
