250 jobs under threat at Lincoln Danwood sites

Some 250 jobs are understood to be at risk in Lincoln at print and document management firm Danwood.

The firm is currently said to be putting forward a range of proposals, including the closure of three of its four Lincoln sites – including its head office – at Whisby, with only its Whitham St Hughs premises remaining open.

No final decision on jobs has been made, TheBusinessDesk.com understands, but the move is apparently due to the poor financial performance of Danwood.

The news comes just a month after Danwood was bought by Apogee – a national maanaged print service firm. At the time Jason Collins, joint CEO of Apogee Corporation, said: “This significant acquisition for Apogee provides us with the scale and reach to be a leading player in the European market for managed print services. Danwood has terrific strengths that complement Apogee’s offering and strategy, including a large client base of major corporate businesses, government and public sector organisations, and a strong service network that will increase the Group’s coverage and capacity to support its clients across the UK and continental Europe.”
