Chancellor announces Budget date

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, has announced the first post-election Budget will take place on November 22.

Hammond announced in March that the Budget would be moved from spring to the autumn to provide a bigger gap between announcements and the start of the new tax year.

He will make a Spring Statement, which will respond to the forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility.
