Crash causes five miles of tailbacks on M1

The M1 currently has delays of at least 30 minutes from J26 to J27, covering around five miles of the northbound carriageway.

Highways England says the delays are due to a road traffic collision with lanes 1 (of 4) closed.

A statement from the agency said: “For traffic approaching the delays locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and you may wish to re-route or delay your journey.”
