On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

WDA's expanding workforce

Derby-based marketing agency WDA Automotive has made four new additions to its digital and creative teams.

WDA, which has been in business for 22 years, offers specialist marketing and creative services to the automotive industry. The company is now looking to drive business growth in international markets such as Germany, and has appointed a German marketer, a digital marketer, a digital marketer/digital designer and a web designer/developer to help facilitate its expansion.

Lee Waterhouse, managing director at WDA Automotive, said: “I’m personally really excited to welcome the four new team members aboard and am confident that they will help WDA drive even more business for its automotive clients.

“As well as the obvious extra capacity, each individual brings a range of new skills which add to WDA’s overall offering. The new hires were critical following a string of new business wins and being awarded new projects from existing clients, and we still have three more vacancies to fill.”

Meanwhile, Derbyshire County Council has taken on eleven business administration apprentices and expects more than 60 young people to start one of its apprenticeships by the end of October.

The Council offers apprenticeships in a wide variety of occupations including surveying, trading standards, civil engineering and catering.

Councillor Angelique Foster, cabinet member for council services, said: “Creating opportunities for young people is a key aim for the council and I’m pleased that we have so many newcomers taking advantage of this opportunity.

“Apprenticeships offer a real alternative to college or university and are a great way for a young person to get a start on the career ladder.

“These apprentices will join 220 who started with the council since May 2017 and I’m pleased that we have been able to create so many opportunities.”
