Nottingham constructor completes £7m school project

A Nottingham-based construction firm has completed a new £7 million Primary School at New Lubbesthorpe in Blaby, Leicestershire.
Clegg Construction has handed over the 420-place New Lubbesthorpe Primary Academy to Leicestershire County Council and recently held a time capsule burying ceremony to mark its opening.
The school was designed by GSS Architecture. It is the first school to be completed on the new large-scale residential development in West Leicestershire, which is set to include 4,250 homes.
Children and families from the local community were invited to bury the time capsule at the new school. It will be opened in 25 years’ time.
Simon Blackburn, managing director at Clegg Construction, said: “We were delighted to welcome children and their families to take part in this event which marks the completion of this project and the opening of the school. This is a stunning building which will be a central focus for the local community for many years to come.”
The OWLS Academy Trust has been appointed to run the new school.
