Letting agency takes premises opposite huge student development

A growing student accommodation letting agency and management company has moved into a 3,228 sq ft unit directly opposite one of Nottingham’s biggest student accommodation schemes.

Megaclose has taken the former Coral Unit at 181-183 Mansfield Road in a deal brokered by Sunny Landa of NG Chartered Surveyors on behalf of GVC Group.

The firm’s expansion comes after a £45 million deal was landed by Student Roost last October to bring forward a 472-bed scheme at York House, which sits across the road from its new premises.

Landa said: “It was a real coup for us to be instructed by Ladbrokes to dispose of their properties and we’ve had great success.

“Mansfield Road is an up-and-coming area and the new York House scheme will add vibrancy to the area. We’re delighted to help a company such as Megaclose expand; they have built up a fantastic reputation within the Nottingham student accommodation market, and this completes a very satisfying deal for our landlord client.”

Ryan Fairfield of GVC said: “This deal represents a great start to our relationship with NG as they assist in our on-going project to dispose of surplus assets across the region.”

Austen Fletcher from Megaclose added: “We are delighted to have purchased another property in this popular student area, as a company we are continually looking for new properties to add to our portfolio.”
