Island Quarter developer launches residential survey

The developer behind the huge Island Quarter scheme in Nottingham has launched an online survey to help it better understand rental preferences and long-term rental trends in the city centre.

Conygar has partnered with Global Apartment Advisors to distribute the survey to local residents and businesses to gain further information on what the people of Nottingham want, in terms of residential property, and particularly how people are going to live post Covid-19.

The development, which received outlined planning permission in April 2019 and saw work clearing the site start earlier this year, will be transformed as part of the regeneration of the southern side of the city.

Christopher Ware of Conygar said: “Over the last few years we have spent a lot of time collecting large amounts of data and detailed insights, including public consultations, but we are now really keen to know more about what Nottingham wants, especially since this will have changed given the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This survey will form part of an ongoing exercise to understand the need and desires for future residential developments in Nottingham, providing homes that meet the local residents’ needs and ensuring the right type of accommodation is delivered across all demographics.”

The scheme, previously known as the Boots Island site, will comprise new homes, grade A office space, creative market space, a lifestyle hotel, retail units, a linear park as well as community space and student accommodation.

Ware added: “Nottingham is such a vibrant and creative city where several exciting developments are already taking place and our plans for the site are a key part of this regeneration. We felt that it was vital to listen to the people of Nottingham and we are really looking forward to seeing the results and releasing our findings over the coming months.”

To encourage people to take part, The Island Quarter team will be donating £1 for each survey completed to NHS Charities Together. Three winners will also be selected to receive a £100 Amazon voucher or a meal delivery worth £150 cooked by award-winning chef and 2019 Masterchef winner, Laurence Henry.
