Major residential scheme gets green light after appeal

How the scheme could look

A developer which was initially refused planning permission for a major residential scheme in a Nottingham suburb has won an appeal for it to go ahead.

Monk Estates and William May Developments has got the green light to build 204 residential and 62 retirement apartments on land on Wilford Lane, to be designed by Whittam Cox.

The scheme had originally included a new Lidl supermarket, a pub, a drive-thru coffee shop. However, these plans were refused last year, despite council planning chiefs recommending the scheme for approval.
