Speedy deal at new shopping centre

Salloway Property Consultants has let the last remaining unit at a new neighbourhood shopping centre in Littleover to Highfields Vets.

The new scheme sits opposite the Highfields Spencer Academy and is part of the Highfields residential development, an extension to Heatherton Village on the edge of Littleover. It is anchored by The Co-operative Food. The new Vets will sit alongside Zanfish, Avance Clinic and Banana Moon Day Nursery.

Highfields Vets is headed by Lucy Travers, who said: “We are delighted to be opening a veterinary practice on the new Highfields estate. We want to bring high quality, experienced veterinary care to the local area with a personal touch. Being in the heart of the community, pets do not need to travel far for treatment and the large car park makes a visit safe and accessible to all. We will be able to provide a very high standard of service, with all the necessary equipment for surgery, dentistry, hospitalisation and emergency care.

“With an increase in home working even more people are enjoying the benefits of pet ownership and we very much hope to be here for a long time to help look after them. As more practices are being bought out by large corporate enterprises, we aim to show how a small independent vets can really benefit the local community.”

Salloway’s William Speed, who brokered the deal, said: “It’s great to complete the tenant line-up in this neighbourhood centre by adding a veterinary practice. Such schemes are all about convenience and providing facilities to the local community and the vets are a perfect fit. This scheme is a prime example of what a local centre should be.”
