Housebuilder pivots to commercial development with roadside scheme

The land in Gainsborough

A developer has snapped up a 0.5 acre site in Gainsborough in deal brokered by FHP Property Consultants.

Acting on behalf of Burney Estates Development, FHP has sold the site to Chevin Homes Derby. The land is next to a Morrisons Supermarket and petrol filling station and has planning consent for two commercial units.

Dan Stack of Chevin Homes said: “Whilst our core business is residential we undertake a range of commercial development as well and intend to develop this site out for commercial roadside users in the near future.”

Phil Daniels of FHP Property Consultants added: “We received instructions on this property in late January 2021 and had concluded terms with the buyer by 4 February 2021. Both parties worked quickly on this transaction and contracts were exchanged during the first week of March – probably one of the quickest transactions with which I have ever been involved. It was a pleasure to act on behalf of Burney Developments and sell this property to Chevin Homes with whom we have had the pleasure of working with previously.

“The demand for good quality development land both in the commercial and residential sectors continues unabated and we have just concluded the sale of other large sites in Nottingham and Stoke on Trent. We are keen to identify new opportunities to discuss with our contacts in both the residential and commercial development market.”
