Land deal sees £43m residential scheme kick off in Nottinghamshire

Housebuilder Avant Homes has bought 15 acres of land to deliver a £43m development of 187 homes in Retford, Nottinghamshire.

Located on North Road on the edge of Retford, Avant Homes secured planning approval from Bassetlaw District Council in March. The new development will form part of the council’s proposed Trinity Farm Urban Extension to deliver a minimum of 440 new homes as part of a mixed-use neighbourhood.

Named Trinity Fields, the development is set to include a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Initial groundworks are due to start this month (April) with the first homes set to be launched for sale in May and the showhomes following shortly after in October. The first residents are expected to move into their new homes at the start of 2022 and, in total, the approximate build length of the development will be four years.

Of the 187 homes, 25% will be designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes agreed a Section 106 contribution of £826,000 to local education, public transport, an open green space and a library.

Avant Homes Central managing director, Stuart Rowlands, said: “We’re always searching for excellent land opportunities in the region and the new Trinity Fields development will become a landmark development in our portfolio.

“Trinity Fields will form part of the Trinity Farm Urban Extension Local Plan with Bassetlaw District Council, so we’re pleased to have secured planning approval and now acquired this parcel of land, and we look forward to moving our plans forward by starting initial groundworks in Retford in April 2021.”
