Leicestershire pharmacy sold after 25 years under same ownership

Property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Rothley Pharmacy in Leicestershire off an asking price of £694,000.

Funding for the sale was sourced through Christie Finance.

Rothley Pharmacy is a standard hours community pharmacy with a self-contained flat which dispenses and average of circa 5,500 items per month. The business is located in the affluent Leicestershire town of Rothley which sits just five miles from Leicester city centre, and it benefits from being within two miles of six GP surgeries.

The pharmacy was previously owned by Mr Amar Shah and family, who decided to sell after over 25 years of ownership. He said: “I was very pleased with the outcome and have to say it was a stress-free process.

Rothley Pharmacy has been bought by pharmacist brothers, Anup and Rahul Patel. This is the pair’s fourth pharmacy purchase so far, with three in Leicestershire and one in Warwickshire.

Carl Steer, director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “Handling the sale for anyone retiring is always a pleasure but doubly so when dealing with such a lovely family. We bid them a long, happy and healthy retirement. The buyers purchased their first pharmacy through Christie & Co and now own four pharmacies and are seeking more.”

David Ward, senior director at Christie Finance, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Rahul and Anup again to help them purchase their fourth pharmacy in Leicester. The level of service that they provide to customers is of the highest standard and I am sure that the local community of Rothley will benefit greatly from this.”
