Leicestershire-based Blue Light Card has moved to a new 21,000 sq foot head office, after a raft of new recruits saw its work force increase by over 150%.
Launched in 2008, Blue Light Card is a specialist discount service for emergency services, NHS and social care workers, providing its members with exclusive access to a range of discounts across fashion, hospitality, days out, tech and more.
The move has seen its headquarters relocate from Loughborough to a new open-plan facility based in Cossington, Soar Valley, Leicestershire.
The new premises form an integral part of a brand refresh project carried out by Nottingham brand communications agency, Warbox, which will see updates to Blue Light Card branding across digital and physical assets. As part of this work, Warbox has supported the team on transforming the space, bringing the new branding and themes into the new office. This includes the creation of large signage in the reception, the creation of signage at the front of the site and ensuring a consistent colour palette across the space. Special care has also been given to the office’s four meeting rooms which have been named after four prominent figures in each sector; Florence Nightingale, Oliver Cromwell, Sir Robert Peel and James Braidwood.
An additional room is being named 1018, which was the collar number of Blue Light Card’s co-founder and chief technology officer, Steve Denny, who used to serve as a police constable until 2013, when he left to focus on the company full time.
Blue Light Card also worked with MX Display for its brand installation work, and Office Principles which implemented the interior design.
Blue Light Card currently employs 94 people, up from just 36 employees in April 2020 after a significant growth period last year saw its membership numbers soar.
Chief executive of Blue Light Card, Tom Dalby, said: “We’ve always known how important the blue light community is, but this last year has highlighted just how crucial they are for keeping us safe and helping the world to get back to normal.
“It’s fantastic to see how rapidly Blue Light Card has grown in the last year, but we could not have done it without the support of our 15,000 retail partners as well as our hardworking Blue Light Card teams. With their help, we now have more than two million members. Our culture is so important to us, and we know that the office environment will be a big part in creating a first-class employee experience. We’re committed to prioritising our staff’s needs, and we’ve taken this into account when designing our new hub.
“This move marks a significant milestone for us and is a real testament to the hard work of each and every member of our team. Leicester is a central hub for so many in the Midlands, with easy access to Nottingham, Birmingham Derby and London, so it places us in the perfect location for further successes too. We look forward to being able to help support even more NHS, social care and emergency services workers over the coming months, while thanking them for their unfailing hard work and dedication to keep the nation safe – especially this year.”
