Plans revealed for 93 homes in Beeston

How the scheme would look

Plans have been revealed for the second phase of the Barton Quarter scheme in Beeston, which could see 93 homes built on the site.

The planning application follows an outline for a hybrid scheme, which was approved back in 2017, and included 29 houses – with a further outline application for 221 further homes and a mixed-use scheme to sit alongside them. An additional unit was added to the plans in 2019.

This scheme is a joint venture between Stockbridge Land Nottingham and former transport company Bartons.

The site is known locally as Bartons and was formally the principal bus depot and offices for the company. The site is now predominately cleared but previously housed a number of office, garage and works buildings.

A planning statement reads: “The Barton Quarter proposal is a key development which occupies an area of vacant land and will introduce a wealth of key benefits to the area in terms of new housing; mixed use-and services; and regeneration of a gateway site.

“This vital piece of urban fabric will complement the variety of uses already present in the area and is appropriately located to avail of the excellent transport links to Nottingham and the wider area.”

The second phase will include 93 houses comprising of 1-2 bedroom flats, 2-bedroom mews and coach houses and 2-5 bedroom houses with associated parking, internal roads and landscaping.
