Accountancy firm Azets is recruiting nine new roles at its Nottingham office following a “significant” period of growth across its audit and assurance and accounts and business advisory services (ABAS) teams.

Azets in Nottingham is recruiting one director, six seniors, and two assistants into its audit and Assurance team

The nine new roles will take Azets’ Nottingham audit and assurance team to a total of 21 people having started with just four in 2019, representing 425% growth in two years.

A significant part of Nottingham’s recent growth has come from its ABAS team, which increased by ten people in the past year through recruitment and office mergers.

Azets recruited five new starters from graduate through to senior level and welcomed existing teams from satellite offices in Newthorpe and Ashby, which included a breadth of specialisms including bookkeeping and VAT services, as well as a larger volume of clients.

Nottingham’s expansion is the latest milestone in the delivery of Azets’ ambitious plans across its Central region, as the firm targets quadruple growth within the next five years and being the leader in the SME space.

Mitesh Thakrar, audit and assurance partner with Azets in Nottingham, said: “Azets in Nottingham provides a high-level of professional advice and service not just to businesses in the East Midlands but right across the UK. We are continually reinvesting in improving the business, evidenced by our growth in Nottingham. It’s an exciting time to join Azets and help drive even more success for our business and SMEs in the region.”

Nicola Bridgeman, ABAS partner with Azets in Nottingham, said: “We’re incredibly proud of everything we have achieved at Azets in Nottingham this year – particularly in the midst of a pandemic and ongoing economic uncertainty. We are a people and client focused business and over the past 12 months we have laid important foundations within our ABAS team to ensure we keep growing and keep serving SMEs in the East Midlands and the UK, with a critical period ahead for business.”
