New retail park opens in Nottingham suburb

A new retail park development in Nottingham on the boundary of West Bridgford and Wilford has opened to shoppers, gym goers and coffee lovers.

Sited on a long-vacant and unused land previously earmarked for a Sainsburys supermarket development, the new out-of-town retail scheme, anchored by a Lidl supermarket, is now home to Pure Gym, a Starbucks coffee shop and drive-thru, Cods Scallops fish and chip shop, Dunkin Donuts and tanning salon, Indigo Sun plus a veterinary practice – Medivet. The car park is also has electric car charging stations.

Frankie Labbate, co-founder of Box Property, leasing agent for Wilford Retail Park said: “It’s great to see this scheme open and active but more importantly very busy after more than two years of hard work and negotiations in attracting and securing such strong national and international brands. The scheme provides a well-balanced and varied set of tenants which will provide the local area with much needed amenities that will no doubt be well used and cater for everyone’s needs. We are very active in the roadside and retail sector and being able to deliver such a strong line up in one of Nottingham’s most prosperous suburbs has been a privilege to be involved in, being influential from inception to delivery.

Jason Davis, co-owner and director at Quora, the developers behind the new outlet, added: “We’re really pleased with Wilford Lane Retail Park and are now seeing it develop into a thriving out-of-town retail and leisure hub. Working alongside the Box Property team we have been able to secure a great mix of tenants and provide a strong offering to the local community.”

All units are expected to be fully open by the end of the summer.
