Tasty new R&D hub hits the market

The Hub

A new development of flexible offices and R&D workshops specifically designed to accommodate food manufacturing businesses has been completed near Holbeach, Lincolnshire.

The Hub, located within the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone, has been established to provide early-stage food companies and technology suppliers with the space they need to grow.

Estate agents Pygott & Crone and Lincolnshire County Council are working together to market the high-tech units, which they believe will become a “go-to” centre for the food industry due to the building’s prime location in the heart of the UK Food Valley.

Public sector organisations including the University of Lincoln will be providing support to the project.

Simon Wright, regeneration and portfolio manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “The construction of the Hub building within Phase I of the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone was made possible by significant investment from Lincolnshire County Council and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

“By investing in this exciting new build project we will be able to safeguard and strengthen South Lincolnshire’s reputation as a centre of excellence for the UK’s food supply chain by providing brand new office and workshop space for a range of businesses working in the agri-tech sector.”

Jasper Caudwell, chartered surveyor at Pygott & Crone, added: “The South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone offers occupiers and investors alike a truly unique opportunity to be positioned at the heart of the UK Food Valley in a cluster of like-minded businesses with a mutual interest in driving innovation and growth across the agri-tech sector.

“The HUB Building in particular offers users the ability to work flexibly alongside businesses at the forefront of the agri-tech and food sector. We are really excited to see the HUB building along with its community grow from strength to strength.”
