Accountancy giant completes Nottingham move

BDO's Nottingham office

BDO LLP has completed its much-anticipated move to Nottingham city centre.

The accountancy and business advisory firm’s new 3,500 sq ft premises at Water Court on Canal Street has become home to a 90-strong East Midlands team which will cover all of its key service lines across audit, advisory and tax.

The prominent building was used as a warehouse in Victorian times and now neighbours the likes of global law firm Eversheds Sutherland.

It has undergone a “comprehensive” fit-out to create a modern, collaborative working space in line with BDO’s agile working policy.

Andrew Mair, head of BDO in the East Midlands, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to move into our new East Midlands hub – a vibrant location that places us at the heart of Nottingham, providing us with a strong local presence and access to some of the region’s most entrepreneurial and fast-growing businesses.

“We remain committed to the East Midlands market and recognise the potential that exists across key sectors and specialisms, whether they’re owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed companies with an ambition to scale up or listed businesses. This move cements our desire to grow those relationships and support businesses on that strategic journey.”

Kyla Bellingall, partner and head of the Midlands at BDO, said: “As the firm continues to invest in agile working, we wanted to create a flexible and inclusive space that offers our team the very best in hybrid working. The new East Midlands hub allows employees to combine both home and office working, perfectly blending individual learning, collaboration, increased levels of productivity and digital connectivity in the most appropriate and effective way. The results of months of hard work are fantastic and create a truly unique environment for our East Midlands team.”
