Work begins on apartment scheme at former Victorian wool warehouse

JYD Holdings has broken ground at 10 Victoria Street

Work has begun on a project to redevelop a former Victorian wool warehouse in Newark into luxury apartments.

JYD Holdings secured planning permission to create 39 residential units, a new courtyard, co-working spaces and a yoga studio at 10 Victoria Street back in June after completing a multimillion-pound deal for the building.

The town centre premises has a storied past, having also served as a bricklaying workshop, training school and pine manufacturing site down the years.

The new apartment scheme is aimed primarily at young professionals.

Work at 10 Victoria Street is expected to be completed by December 2023.

Jinny Yang, managing director at JYD, said: “We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to renovate this former unused warehouse into stylish, one-of-a-kind apartments, bringing this beautiful building back to life and rejuvenating its unique character.”

A ground-breaking ceremony was held last week to celebrate the project launch:
