Next turnover ahead of forecasts as high street powers sales

Next, the Enderby retail giant, has posted results slightly ahead of expectations for the 13 weeks to October 29.

The firm says sales were up by 0.4% against the same period last year.

Online sales dropped slightly, but this was more than made up for by a 3.1% rise in high street turnover, which rose by 3.1%.

Next said it is maintaining its previous guidance for full price sales for the rest of the year to be down by 2% against last year.

Next will give an update on sales to Saturday 31 December on Thursday 5 January 2023.
