A luxury dessert brand founded in Derby is set to launch its first international outlet next month.

Heavenly Desserts was established in 2008 by Mohammad Imran and Yousif Aslam.

The popular brand currently operates 42 stores across the UK, including six in the East Midlands.

Now, following a period of “incredibly exciting” growth on home turf, the company is gearing up to launch a new store in Toronto, Canada and has revealed plans to open a further four outlets across the country.

A spokesperson for Heavenly Desserts told TheBusinessDesk.com its newest store will seat 75 guests and employ around 20 people.

Plans are in place to extend the franchise to Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa and Calgary following the Toronto opening, with the brand also expected to expand into the US and Pakistan in the coming months.

The news follows the arrival of NSO trainer Martha Prudence, brand excellence auditor Louise Wilkinson and North and Scotland area manager Warren Smith at the fast-growing firm.

Yousif Aslam, co-founder and managing director at Heavenly Desserts, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our team at such a pivotal time for the company. With new innovative product launches happening all the time and the brand expanding internationally, we’re seeing incredibly exciting growth.

“As we move at pace, it is crucial that we uphold the fantastic standard of Heavenly Desserts – be that in new stores both nationally and worldwide, or our existing store base – and we look forward to having Martha, Louise and Warren oversee this in each of their respective roles. I’m very pleased to have them on board to assist our continued growth, not only in terms of the business but in the scope and career progression of our team.”
