Golf retailer tees off new era after being sold out of administration

A north Nottinghamshire business which called in administrators in early August has been sold out of administration.

GolfSupport was offloaded to Gloucestershire-based Austen Group for £380,000 in a pre-pack deal on the same day that joint administrators from Mercer & Hole were called into the firm.

Documents seen by TheBusinessDesk.com highlight the parlous nature of GolfSupport when administrators were appointed. The Mansfield firm had made losses of over £1m since March 2022.

The company has its flagship showroom and a 70,000 sq ft warehouse in Mansfield. GolfSupport was established in April 2005 at the Buxton and High Peak Golf Club in Derbyshire. As the firm grew, its founder, John Lines, moved it to his hometown of Mansfield.

It is thought that unsecured creditors of GolfSupport will receive 10p for every pound they’re owed.
