Stricken £100m housing scheme up for sale

The completed homes at the site

Property consultancy heb has been appointed to sell the £100m part-completed Sherwood Oaks Homes Development in Forest Town, near Mansfield.

heb is acting on behalf of administrator Moorfields to dispose of the scheme, which comprises 30 fully-completed homes.

A further 283 plots remain within the rest of the 25-acre site.

Robert Maxey, partner of heb, said: “We are pleased to be appointed to assist Moorfields by identifying a buyer for this unique opportunity.

“This appointment follows on from other similar successful disposals on their behalf across the region, and we look forward to repeating the successful outcomes.

“This fantastic opportunity really is something of a ‘one off’, and provides the buyer the chance to begin selling homes immediately, together with an excellent pipeline supply for delivering later phases.

“The completed homes have been constructed to an incredibly high standard and the plans for the remaining development clearly show what an attractive and sought-after estate this will be as development continues to progress.

“Much of the initial ground works and servicing have been undertaken including the construction of the on-site pumping station and gas and electricity sub-stations. Accordingly, this really does offer a great opportunity for the successful bidder to really hit the ground running.”

Sherwood Oak Homes filed a notice of appointment to appoint administrators last month, with Moorfields being officially called in on October 3.

OakNorth Bank, which holds a charge over the company, applied for Sherwood Oak Homes to be put into administration.

A second firm, Sherwood Oak Holdings, has also called in administrators from Moorfields.
