Freight transport company investments surpass £1m this year

Nottingham-based Joseph Merritt Group (Merritts), known for heavy machinery moving and industrial storage, has revealed an ongoing investment initiative.

Since January, the company has committed over £1m to new machinery and equipment, with an additional £500,000 earmarked for expenditure in 2024.

This year’s investments include the acquisition of four new Scania tractor units, two step-frame semi-trailers featuring beavertail ramp systems, and the expansion of warehouse space, boosting their industrial storage capacity to over 100,000 sq ft.

Looking ahead to 2024, Merritts plans to enhance their crane trailer fleet by incorporating a FASSI F990RA.2.24 and a FASSI F820RA.2.24, installed onto Nooteboom trailers.

James Merritt, co-owner, said: “Over the past 18 months we have witnessed a significant increase in the requirement for turnkey factory relocation projects, with customers wishing to expand their facilities to enhance their manufacturing capabilities. Our ongoing investment will enable us to continue delivering exceptional services to our clients while strengthening our position as leaders in the machinery moving and industrial storage sector.”
