A developer and manager of industrial and logistics facilities in the UK, has recently finished a £60m project constructing four new logistics units covering a total area of 202,000 sq ft at St. Modwen Park Derby.

The new units by St. Modwen Logistics range from 27,000 to 82,000 sq ft and supplement the initial phase, which encompassed 300,000 sq ft already completed at the Park.

Current residents at the park include Vaillant, a German heat pump manufacturer, which occupies a 131,000 sq ft unit, while Getinge, a Swedish medical technology company, has established a Global Centre of Excellence for Chemistry in a 79,000 sq ft building, serving as its UK headquarters.

St. Modwen Logistics also recently leased a 40,000 sq ft unit to Kia, a global automotive company, for use as a training academy for future Kia employees.

St. Modwen Logistics has also enhanced biodiversity at the Park by establishing a new riverside nature corridor, with over 11,000 trees and shrubs planted during this latest phase, adding to the 17,000 planted during the initial development.

Robert Richardson, development director at St. Modwen Logistics, said: “St. Modwen Park Derby has already attracted a variety of blue-chip industrial and logistics occupiers, contributing to its reputation as a national hub for training and research for the manufacturing, healthcare and automotive industries. This latest phase of development, which will more than double the Park’s industrial and logistics floorspace, provides occupiers of all sizes the opportunity to benefit from the scheme’s thriving business ecosystem, exceptional sustainability features and commanding location in one of the UK’s most in-demand logistics markets.”

Another pre-let unit spanning 147,000 sq ft is scheduled for completion this Spring as part of the second phase of development
