Traffic update: Major disruption on M1 in Leicestershire

Commuters in the East Midlands face long delays this morning after the M1 in Leicestershire was closed southbound between J23A and J22 due to Leicestershire Police-led incident.

Road users are advised to exit the M1 at Junction 23A and take the A42 southbound continuing onto the M42 southbound. At Birmingham take the M6 southbound and re-join the M1 at Junction 19.

Traffic leaving the Download Festival at Donington Park are advised to follow local event signage and not to use satnav navigation.
